We at Janiri Safaris make your dreams come true. We offer you the real African wildlife experience customized just for you.
If it is a personal encounter with the Mountain Gorillas, or seeing the Big 5 and experiencing the Rhinos on a walking tour, you can have it all with us.
We work with several senior drivers, that have more than 20 years of experience in the tourism sector. Our vehicles are 4×4 Safari-Landcruisers to make your safari as comfortable as possible.
We are working with selected lodges, in different categories from luxury to budget, to make you feel at home during your safari. Of course, you are also free to choose your own accommodation.
We start our safaris on any day which gives you the opportunity to choose the beginning of your safari as well as the duration according to your preference. That gives you the flexibility to book the flights that fit the best for you.

Gorilla trekking / Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Uganda’s most important tourist hotspot is Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, including 50% of the global mountain gorilla population. Even with 18 gorillafamily’s it’s still important to book this once of a lifetime adventure at least 4 month’s in advance. On the border with Rwanda you can also climb one of the 3 vulcanoes. Mt Muhavura (4127m), Mt Gahinga (3474m) and Mt Sabinyo (3634m) this one is also bordering Congo. Other attractions are the Golden Monkey’s, the beautiful lakes or visiting a Batwa community.
Safari Lake Mburo National Park
A small park with a lot diversity of mammels. It’s the only park in Uganda where you can spot zebra’s and impala’s. Night game drive is recommended to see leopard’s and hyena’s.
Safari Murchison Falls National Park
The biggest park named after the most powerful waterfall of the world, the famous Murchison Falls. Giraffes, buffalo’s, hartebeest and Ugandan kob’s are always seen. During the boat trip you will spot the big Nile crocodiles, a lot of hippo’s and elephant’s refreshing at the river Nile. Chimp tracking is also possible at Budongo Forest.
Safari Queen Elizabeth National Park
The most biodiverse park, you can’t miss elephant’s here. You can also make a boat trip on the Kazingachannel or walk through the Kyambura Gorge looking for chimp’s.
Chimpanzee trekking - Kibale Forest National Park
Home of the primates. 13 species recorded: olive baboon, black-and-white colobus, mangabey, vervet monkey, red colobus, L’Hoest’s monkey, blue monkey, red-tailed monkey and more than 1.500 chimpanzee’s. The other side of Fort Portal you have Semliki National park with the biggest hotsprings of Uganda. Semliki is a must see for birdlovers.
Safari Kidepo Valley National Park
Bordering Kenya and South Sudan this National park is hidden in the north of Uganda. With a average of 10 visitors a day you have the whole park for yourself. The only park where you can find cheetah’s, aardwolf and ostriches.
Rhino trekking - Ziwa Rhino Wildlife Ranch
This wildlife ranch is the only place in Uganda to see rhino’s. They have 32 rhino’s, rangers take you for a walk between this giants. A unique experience.
Nile Rafting - Jinja
Source of the Nile. The place where the world’s longest (6.500km) river exits Africa’s largest lake Victoria. The most popular excursion is rafting, really exciting. You can also kayaking, bungeejumping, horse riding or quads.
Mountain Hiking - Mount Elgon
A extinct shield volcano, rising to 4.321m at Wagagai peak and has the broadest base of any free standingmountain of the world. It is quite easy to hike the peak without becoming sick of the altitude. Just outside the National park you find the 99m high Sipi Falls, the lowest in a series of 3 pretty waterfalls. The region is well known for its coffee.
Culture Tour - Karamoja
The most overtly absorbing cultural destination. The Karamojong people, semi-nomadic pastoralists, whose traditional lifestyle still revolves around there cows. An excellent off-the-beaten-track to Kidepo valley.
